Tension Link Dynamometer
This dynamometer load cell is suitable for tension applications such as winching, hanging crane scale, and lifting systems. Openings at either end of the crane load cell allow for easy connection to shackles, wire rope, or other rigging.

Hanging Crane Scale
This digital hanging scale includes a shackle, hook, and mounted LED digital display all in one easy to use unit. This crane scale is ideal for smaller tension loads where the operator will be close to the hanging scale to view tension measurement.

Custom Load Pin
Load pins are custom designed and are suitable anywhere there is a pin and you want to know the weight on it. Shear pins are not precision accurate and are classified as safety devices rather than weigh scales.

Floater Crane Scale
These systems ride on the cable and its roller configuration causes slight deflection in the cable. As weight is applied to the cable, the cable tightens and applies for to a load cell that measures weight.

Deadline Sensor
The deadline sensor simply clamps onto the wire rope and creates cable deflection. This cable deflection is then measured to calculate weight. Deadline sensors are not precision accurate and are classified as safety devices rather than weigh scales.

200 S-Type Load Cell
The S-type load cell is a precision load cell that is useful for very accurate weighing. It is versatile and suited for scale conversions, general tension applications, and compression applications.

If you're unsure which crane weighing system is best for you, please consider the following points which may help lead you in the right direction.
DEAD END VERSUS LINE RIDER
If the wire rope has an accessible dead end to which a weighing device can be attached to (via hook, shackle, etc), then our most appropriate crane scale systems are Tension Link Dynamometers, Hanging Crane Scales, or S-Type load cells. If the wire rope does not have an accesible end, then you may need to consider a Floater Crane Scale or Deadline sensor which can both attach to the middle of wire rope rather then the ends. Finally, custom load pins can be used in a variety of tension applications where the load being applied is supported by a pin.
HEAD SPACE
Sometimes crane scales are limited by available head space. If this may be an issue for you, be sure to look at the dimensions of the weighing device and consider its length! If head space is a significant issue, Custom Load Pins, Floater Crane Scales, and Deadline Sensors may be an option but you will sacrifice tension load accuracy with these weighing systems.
ACCURACY
Accuracy is a very important consideration when selecting the right crane weighing system. S-Type load cells have the highest degree of accuracy at 0.1% of full scale capacity (FS) and are used in precision weighing applications. Tension links are the next best at 0.25% FS but are more robust and resistant to side loading than S-Type. Deadline sensors, Load Pins, and Floater Crane Scales are the least accurate at ranges of 0.5% to 2% accuracy and are considered as safety devices rather than weigh scales. |
